John was born in Arthur, Illinois on January 2, 1939. John worked at Detweiler Aluminum and Bishop’s Aluminum as an aluminum installer. He had a passion for wood turning.
John is survived by his son Roger Miller (Debbie), daughter Teresa Gochnauer (Jim), grandchildren Audrey DeJesus (Elvin), Charlotte Gochnauer, Melanie Gochnauer, and Valorie Gochnauer, great-grandchildren Jeremiah DeJesus, Sofia DeJesus, Elora Dahlberg, brothers Andy Miller, Harvey Miller, Sam Troyer, sisters Esther Kelley, and Verna Chupp, and former wife and friend, Viola DeLance.
A visitation for John will be held Friday, September 19, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. A burial will occur Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. A reception will occur Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232.
