Mae Scott Hurley, age 90, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Sunday May 26, 2019. Mae was born December 10, 1928 to the late Robert Lee and Wilma (Rawls) Johnson. She was a graduate of Sarasota High School, Class of 1946.
Mae was a member of the Southside Baptist Women's Club, where she attended church. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, church and especially her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and dear friend that will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Winfield Scott (Trisha), Mark Scott (Michelle) and Sid Scott (Julie); daughter-in-law, Rose Scott; sister, Margie Horton; 11 cherished grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mae is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Winfield Scott, son Robert Lee Scott and siblings, C.L. Johnson and Cleo Alderman.
A funeral service will begin at 10 am on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church, 5700 Palmer Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34232, burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Children's Ministry.
