

Margot Meta Scheiterlein (nee Stotzel), of Sarasota, FL passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2016 at the age of 103. She was born on February 23, 1913 in Dortmund, Germany to the late Edward and Meta Stotzel.
Margot worked as a waitress from the age of 17 in Detroit, MI, after moving to Sarasota in 1948, she worked for many years at the Mel-O-Dee Restaurant as a waitress and hostess. She loved her job and loved working with people.
Margot was raised in the Lutheran Faith. She was a member of the German-American Club of Manatee and the German-American Social Club of Sarasota, where she danced the Polka until the age of 101. She loved cooking and baking, traveling, needle arts and an evening Schnapps! Mostly she loved her family here in Sarasota and her large extended family in Michigan who all adored her.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Rita Savage of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Lucy Drayer of Bay City, MI and Belinda Chase (Phil Lindenbaum) of Sarasota, FL; 6 cherished grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Margot is preceded in death by her husband, Fred “Fritz"; sisters, Helma "Schnucky" Shilling and Gertrude Sheppard and brother, Herbert Stotzel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Palms Robarts Funeral Home. Private interment will be at Sarasota Memorial Park.
