

Mary L. Hybarger Mainey, 88, of Nokomis, died April 7, 2012. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Naomi Nelson Hybarger and Harry Hybarger. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother and husband of 62 years, Robert C. Mainey, Sr.
Mary is survived by two sons, Larry ( Trish ) of Nokomis and Chris ( Janet ) of Sarasota; three grandchildren, Matt Mainey of Denver, Jena ( Beau) Mainey Beaver of San Francisco and Yul ElHabash of Tampa.
Mary spent over 33 years working as Office Supervisor for the Sarasota County Road and Bridge Department.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during WWII as a Seaman First Class inspecting aircraft wire harnesses stationed at the US Naval Air Station in Miami. She received the Victory Medal and the American Theater Medal.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Osprey.
Mary had been a resident of Sarasota County since 1955. She was very devoted to her family and loved her grandchildren. She loved to cross stitch , crossword puzzles, reading and emailing. She, along with her husband enjoyed collectibles and estate sales. For many years the enjoyed Spring and Fall at their cabin in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. She was a joy to those that were lucky enough to share her life; a positive, beautiful lady that will forever be in the hearts of her family and friends.
