Born in Saginaw, Michigan to Benjamin Patrick Koerber and Ruth Elaine Koerber, Nancy earned her bachelor's degree at Western Michigan University. She was always a full time mother, raising and supporting her children in every way for the entirety of her life. She also had many jobs throughout her lifetime including being a teacher, volunteer, and working as a caregiver. She found her passion while working for the Child Development Center here in Sarasota. Nancy lent her compassionate and caring nature to help those who needed it the most. Going beyond the norm of offering basic services to children and families in need suited her compassionate and caring nature. She loved her work and helped countless families become stronger. Being a woman of deep faith, she embodied the Lord's work with all she did.
Nancy cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she took great pride in spending true quality time with all of those around her. Whether it was reading to her children and grandchildren, or cheering them on at sporting events, she was a constant source of encouragement and love.
Nancy's hands were always busy, either while gardening, bird watching, or spending time with her family and friends. She had a profound love for singing in the church choir, painting, enjoying nature, antiques, flowers, birds, and sharing her passion for her pure love of Christ. Nancy was truly a selfless woman and dedicated her incredible gifts to serve and inspire others.
She is survived by her children, Mary Knowlton, John Baas, David Baas, and Rachel Baas; her grandchildren, Bryson, Tate, and Ella Baas; her sisters, Karen Karoub, Sally McIlhargey, Janet Karlson; brother, Ben Koerber; along with loved one's spouses and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Patrick Koerber and Ruth Elaine Koerber.
