Neil Allen Tucker, age 84, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Tidewell Hospice House. Tucker was born on September 11,1939 in Bluefield, WV. His loving and supportive parents were Sydney Tucker and Lilyan Kohn Tucker. Tucker had one older sister Edna Faye "Eddie", who always called him a little leach because he wanted to tag along on her dates with the high school varsity players.
Tucker was in the last graduating class from Beaver High School in 1957. He was a proud graduate from Virginia Tech with both a BS and an MS in Business and Public Administration. He spent fours years teaching Economics at Marshall University and Louisiana State Baton Rouge. He decided to move to New York City and went to work for Prudential Bache. After a few years, he started his own company, Corporate Strategies, raising funds for small businesses. Tucker loved his community of Southfield which he proudly served as President and board member for 17 years.
Tucker never met a stranger. He thought nothing of approaching someone on the street, standing in line, or dining in a restaurant. Anyone who knew him, loved him. Above all, he was always a gentleman.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 24 years Betty, whom he called Hunny Bunny, daughter Tracy (Graham) Knox of Sydney, Australia, bonus daughter Amy (Matthew) Dennis of Fair Play, SC, and bonus son Eric (Jody) Johnson of Statesville, NC. Tucker was blessed with five grandchildren and three great grands. Tucker always wanted more brothers and sisters. His wish was granted when he married Betty. He was loved by six sisters and three brothers, their spouses, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Tucker was blessed to be an uncle to three nephews, Scott (Paula) Jahrmarkt, Craig Jahrmarkt,
and Cliff (Michelle) Jahrmarkt and their children. His best friend of 80 years, Richard Ammar, will be waiting for him at the Pearly Gates.
