Feb. 22, 1927-Sept. 6, 2013
Robert Lee Allman, 86, of Sarasota Florida, died September 6th, 2013. He was born in Longacre, WV on February 22, 1927. He served in the 337th Field Artillery in Italy toward the end of WW II. When he returned home from the service he married his high school sweet heart, Geraldine Hudson.
He moved to Sarasota in 1954 and worked at Holiday Harbor Marina where he maintained an outdoor shop repairing boat motors. Twenty years later he took another outdoor job as maintenance manager at Polynesian Gardens. He often said he was the luckiest man alive because he got to work "outdoors".
Robert, along with his wife, Geraldine, lived a Christian life and loved to help others regarding the Lord.
He was also a poet. He would never allow his poetry to be published and would never change even one small word of his poetry because he said it was given to him by God.
Preceding him in death was his wife Geraldine Hudson Allman, a brother, Arthur Allman
and a sister Elizabeth Allman Jamison. He is survived by his daughter, Tanna Allman of San Angelo, TX, sister, Ruth Schultz of South Charleston, WV and many loving nieces and nephews.
A small private ceremony is planned for later this year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lady Dunn Cemetery Association. Treasurer: Scott V. Hudson, 1805 Gnu Gap, Round Rock, TX 78664.
