Dr. Sanford H. Glassman, 79, of Sarasota passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Sanford was born on December 1, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Samuel and Anna Glassman. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. After completing his residency at Philadelphia General Hospital, he would go on to serve for a short time in the capacity of physician as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. Later, he settled in Monmouth County, NJ, where he raised his family and owned a private practice for 38 years. Survivors include his devoted wife of 46 years, Lynn; sons, Todd Glassman (Jennifer) and Scott Glassman (Linda); sister, Eleanor Krachman; sister-in-law, Judith Obrant; grandchildren, Taylor, Thomas and Zachary Glassman. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 22, at 1 PM at Temple Sinai, 4631 S Lockwood Ridge Rd, Sarasota, Florida.
