Dad, Words can't describe what you meant to so many people but mostly to me. In a style like no other you have been and will always be an inspiration to all of us. As a husband, father, grandfather, you set the standard of what a man should be. You worked so hard that we could have a better life and passed on a legacy that will last forever. But from your greatest accomplishments you gave me the greatest gift of all; You gave me your daughter and for that I'm forever thankful. We salute you and thank God for giving us the man we know as "PaPa" We'll miss you.

I have grown close to this family over the last 18 years or so that I have known them. Being employed by Wally Jr. I have had the privilege of getting to know Mr. Devlin in business and in a personal way.  We shared a love for the Marine Corps as my father was a Marine as well. We would talk about the way a Marine carried himself and reflected how that effected how we do things in ours lives today. 


As I remember the time spent together, there was always a great deal of kindness that he showed to me. He always had a minute to stop and listen to what I had on my mind. I think of the great strength he showed but he also had a quiet demeanor. He reminded me of my father and he taught me so much just by example.

There was also a lighter side to Mr. "D". We shared jokes and it was always good to see his head go back with a big smile and a little chuckle. You know you nailed it! 

The last year I was able to be of service to him as we made many trips from Sarasota to Jacksonville. He trusted me to make sure he would get where he needed to go with no problems. What an honor that was.

To Mrs. "D", Wally, Kim, Paul and all the grandkids, my prayers are with you. He was a great man, he accomplished much more than meets the eye. What an honor to have known him.

He will be greatly missed!

Shirley, Kim and Wally ... I've known your family for more than five decades and for most of that, Wally Sr. was a second father figure.

There's no one memory. There's dinners with your family at the old Island West condominium, occasional chats while growing up and -- more recently -- during holiday celebrations at Paul and Kim's or the extended family celebrations at El Greco or Demetrios.

I never knew Wally Sr. was a Marine until a read the tribute page, but that explains so much.

It never gets any easier but I have a feeling that as the years past, you'll find the strength Wally Sr. imbued in all of you will make it possible for you (and all the grandchildren) to carry on.

Wow,  In my youth I always looked forward to going and visiting my Uncle and his wife and my cousins.  We would spend time at their home and condo and go out to eat at a nice restaurant and look at the ocean and all of its vastness.  I watched Him become successful at the things He was working on and how his son also became successful through the years which inspired me to keep driving for that moment.  I reached that goal through music and Likewise shared that gift with many people throughout the years and many ways.  God has been good to our family and I will miss him dearly but I do know He is in a better place!  God Bless...
