

Wilfred L. Riley, known to so many as Bill, and lovingly as “Billy Bob.” was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by his family. He shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Linda Riley, and together they built a life filled with love, adventure, and lasting memories.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Harrison and her husband James, Brenda Riley; his son Jay Riley and his wife Sara; and his cherished grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kyle, and Connor and great-grandson Ozzy. He is also survived by his siblings Jim and Kathy.
Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, he moved to Ramsey, New Jersey, in 1977, before making Sarasota, Florida, his home in 1992. With over 40 years of international marketing experience, Bill first built a successful career in global trade by founding Ricol & Associates, a textile import/export company. In the early 2000s, he transitioned into real estate and quickly became a respected presence in the Sarasota market. As part of Coldwell Banker Realty, He combined his business expertise with a passion for helping others, guiding countless clients in developing, buying, and selling property across the region.
Beyond his career, Bill embraced life with joy and passion. He loved traveling, fishing, boating, and cooking, and he was especially proud of his famous “Billy Bob style” recipes. Known for his generous spirit, he was deeply committed to supporting pediatric cancer causes and always sought to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
His life was marked by love, laughter, humor, and service. Bill's warmth, kindness, and dedication to family and community will be remembered and treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Life will be planned in coming months.
