

Born on April 10th, 1946, in Sarasota, Florida, Willie was the son of the late Collis Weeks and Ersie Mae Weeks. He was the third child out of 14 children raised in Sarasota where he spent his early years. Many family members and friends knew him as Bill. Willie attended Booker High School and later followed in his family’s footsteps by starting his own lawn service. Later he moved to Tampa after marrying and having children. He had a lifelong passion for sports, his favorite being football and his number one team was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Willie also enjoyed cooking, a skill he learned from watching his mother while she cooked.
Willie was known for being a kind, patient and quiet natured person. He always had a positive outlook on life no matter what the situation he could find the good in it and continue to smile. Later in life he enjoyed collecting and selling scrap metal, often driving around in his white Chevy 1500 pickup truck It was a simple pleasure that brought him peace.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Faye Carey, Mary Weeks and Carlin Weeks.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Elizabeth Weeks children Deandrea Evette Torrez (John) and Willie Ece Weeks Jr, their mother Clissree Davis Weeks, grandchildren Deandrea Willingham, Deandre Torrez (Kyanna), and Joaquin Torrez, great grandchildren Kaiya Torrez, Amyah and Knowledge Willingham his siblings Ruby Smalls, James Weeks (Delvinter), Carlotta Weeks, Ernest Weeks (Donna), Elmira “Polly” Lovett (Harold), Lisa Weeks, Gregory Weeks, Lois Weeks, Johnny Weeks, and Byron Weeks along with many more loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to honor Willie's life will be held on Saturday August 30th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park 170 Honore Ave. Sarasota, FL 34232.
