Born in Rajkot, India on May 8, 1955, Yogi was the only son of Baldev and Kokila Jani. He spent his early years as a student at Raj Kumar College and graduated from Great Falls College in Great Falls, Montana where he received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1984.
Mr. Jani was self-employed. He was a longtime captain of the Sarasota International Cricket Club and a member of Gulf Gate Moose Lodge 608. Yogi was known to many as a kind man with a warm smile and gentle eyes. He is deeply missed by his family and community.
He was survived by one daughter, Preeti (Ben) Jani, of Philadelphia, PA and one son, Arjun (Kristy) Jani, of Jonesborough, TN; two grandchildren, Dhevan and Adelyn Jani; three sisters, Sadhna (Anil) Jani-Dhuna of Burlington, Arti Jani of Burlington and Riddhi Jani of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Pratima Jani.
A gathering of friends & family for Yogi will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM.
