Aldona "Donna" Ellen Tapper, of Schererville, Indiana, formerly of Hammond, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2018 with her loving family at her side.
Donna was born August 30, 1925 in East Chicago, IN to the late John and Barbara. Also preceding her in death are her husband, Norman Tapper Jr.; sister, Bernice; and brother, Arthur.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Norm (Rita), Linda (David), and Laura (Steve); 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren; beloved sister, Nora.
Donna was a secretary for Rand McNally for 21 years, and a real estate broker for Ennis Co. for 5 years. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Hammond for over 70 years. Donna was a member of the Lady Shrine and Eastern Star through Orak Temple of Hammond. Donna was also a member of "Mended Hearts". She was an avid dancer, a talented gardener, world traveler, and had a passion for the art of conversation, especially with laughter.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 11:00 am until the time of her funeral at 1:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Crown Point, IN 46307). Burial will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. To leave online condolences, please visit www.chapellawnfunerals.com
