

Rudolph Paul Keserich, age 93, passed away March 27, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Rudolph leaves his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley (nee Simpson), his devoted daughters: Edna (Mike) Sweeney and Beverly (John) Phillips; his cherished grandchildren: Daniel and Michael Phillips, and Steven Sweeney; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Rudolph was preceded in death by his brother, John Keserich; and sister, Ann Goedert. Rudolph proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army's 399th Infantry Unit serving in France and Germany, receiving a Bronze Star. Rudolph retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad with 42 years of service. He served as Past Master of Aaron Utopia Lodge in Chicago, IL. Rudolph enjoyed retirement for 30 years doing some of his favorite activities including golf and Solitaire. He remained active in the Masonic Lodge and was a long-suffering Chicago Cubs fan. Rudolph's family was his passion in life and will truly be missed by all the lives he has touched throughout the years. Family and friends may gather on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to Shriner's Children's Hospital or Honor Flight Chicago.
