Christopher V. Roll, 68, of Scottsdale, Arizona, died unexpectedly on July 15, 2020. He was born October 29, 1951 at U.S. Army Station Hospital, Mitchell Field, Hempstead, L.I., NY, to Charles Vincent Roll and Mary Elizabeth Imlay Roll.
Chris will be remembered as a thoughtful man who cared deeply for his family, friends, and cats. He loved riding his motorcycles, listening to music, collecting nostalgia, traveling and walking/hiking the outdoors, and making people laugh. He was employed with the Tempe Elementary School District for 16 years as a school bus driver and enjoyed fostering interactions with his students, especially with the special needs kids and really loved driving a school bus. His family, friends, and coworkers thought of him as caring, gentle, humble, and kindhearted. He had a great rapport with everyone he came in contact with…Chris made a lasting impression on all who knew him and brought smiles to their faces.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Karen Elizabeth Roll, aunt Mary Lou Bowers, uncles Richard Roll and Jack Roll, and his late wife Kathleen Marie Lehan-Roll. He is survived by his beloved daughter Jodie Elizabeth Roll-Villegas and his dear brother, Terence Charles Roll. Surviving in addition to his daughter and brother are his Uncle Gene Roll (& Aunt Ann), his nephews Timothy Callis Roll and Terrence Charles Roll, and niece Meleah Hartnett- Roll, cousins Luke Roll, Guy Roll, Mike Roll, Kathleen Roll, Lorna Roll and his loving partner Wendy Thompson.
A Graveside Service of Remembrance will be held at Green Acres Cemetery on September 18, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Seating will be limited to approximately 30 people, however there will also be a live stream on the Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery Facebook (www.facebook.com/GreenAcresMortuary) for anyone that cannot attend and it will stay up inevitably for anyone that wants or needs to watch at a later date.
