

Craig Howard Cheney, 72, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on June 8, 2024 surrounded by his family. Craig was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on August 5, 1951. Craig married Connie Jean Cheney (Ehresman) on December 18, 1971 in Billings, Montana. The young couple moved to Arizona where Craig worked with his grandfather at Charlie’s Market in Casa Grande before starting his long and successful career in the Retirement and Assisted Living industry. Craig was a founding member of Arizona Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), had a passion for singing, loved hymns of the Christian faith, enjoyed photography, and was happiest spending time with his family. Craig was a kind and gentle man, modeling the words of Jesus, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie; his four children Heather Miller (Brandon), Brad Cheney (Rachelle), Matt Cheney (Caitlin), Sarah Marr (Jason); his beloved nine grandchildren; and his siblings and their families Roger Cheney, Scott Cheney, and Melody Birkett.
A memorial service will be held at Camelback Bible Church in Paradise Valley on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Donations in Craig’s name may be made to Camelback Bible Church Organ Fund or a charity of your choosing.
