A cherished leader in executive recruitment, David was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 20, 1957. He was a dynamic force in the corporate world and a beloved family member and friend. David earned his B.S. degree from the Krannert School of Business at Purdue University, where he developed a strong foundation in business and leadership and was a proud fraternity brother of Pi Kappa Phi. David founded his recruiting firm CORPORATE DYNAMIX in 1999 and in the ensuing 24 years David built a reputation as one of the leading executive recruiters in the nation. He built lasting relationships with both clients and candidates, renowned for his keen insight and understanding of the technology sector. David’s ability to match talent with opportunity was unmatched, and he took great pride in helping thousands of individuals advance their careers.
Outside of his professional achievements, David was an avid golfer having played elite courses in the US and Scotland, attended music concerts around the country and enjoyed traveling overseas with his wife Candace; in fact, David and Candy just completed a Greek Isles vacation in September. He was a life-long fan of all Purdue sports teams and a proud Boilermaker. When the Purdue Men’s basketball team played in the 2024 Final Four NCAA Championships, David and his fraternity brothers were in the stadium cheering the loudest.
As much as David valued his career as a Recruiter, his family and his friends were everything. One of his proudest accomplishments was maintaining enduring bonds with friends from every decade of his life. David had an amazing spirit and sense of humor; he loved life and was always the life of the party. He talked to everyone he met and would befriend a stranger and learn their life story within minutes. Within his funny quips David would mix in sage advice and insights into the world.
David is survived by his spouse of 13 years, Candace Jung; their three children, Sabrina Sterenfeld, Ryan Kwiatkowski and Daniel Kwiatkowski; his mother Arlene Sterenfeld; sister Debra (and Wayne) Saline; niece Brittany (and Ronnie) Riven; and nephew Jason (and Casey) Saline. David is predeceased by his father Herbert Sterenfeld.
His legacy of kindness, fun, and commitment to excellence will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. David’s family would like to give special thanks and acknowledgment to the staff at Honor Health and Mayo Clinic for their unconditional support and dedication to David’s well-being for more than five years. A memorial event will be held on June 4, 2025 at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery in Scottsdale to celebrate David's life and achievements, celebrating the profound impact he made on all who crossed his path. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in memory of David Sterenfeld, to Mayo Clinic for Cancer and Blood/Bone Marrow Disorders Research at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Donations can be made by phone, online or by mail.
