

Glenn Everett Backman, 94, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away in Scottsdale on April 15, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1931 in Marinette, Wisconsin to the late Leonard Backman and the late Marie Backman (Sedergren). He graduated from Stephenson High (Menominee County, Michigan) in May of 1948.
Glenn married Marjorie Ann Just on April 17, 1954 and was married for 67 years. Glenn loved the Lord and was faithful in attending church services with his family at Scottsdale Baptist Church and First Southern Baptist Church of Scottsdale. Both he and Marge enjoyed traveling the world. In addition to that, he was an amazing oil paint artist and excelled in woodburning. Family was extremely important to him. He attended numerous activities and events showing his everlasting love for his family.
He worked at Honeywell Manufacturing for 40+ years after his Air Force service at Luke Air Force Base and deployment to South Korea during the Korean War. He is survived by Glenda Backman, Michael Leonard Backman (Darla) and Anne Marie Martin (Joe). 4 Grandchildren: Amber Woodward (Tim), Julie Ballou (James), Stacie Mashburn (Cameron) and Mark Backman. 4 Great Grandchildren : Ayden Martin, Paityn Woodward, JJ Calathes and Zachary Calathes; long term caregiver: Jasmine; 1 sister: Marilyn LaCombe and many nieces and nephews. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; brother-in-law: Edward Just; sister-in-law: Martha Padgett; 3 brothers: Loren, Leonard Ronald and Gary; 4 sisters: Elizabeth Tickler, Carol Miller, Linda Harper and Janet Anderson. Visitation will be held at Green Acres Mortuary in Scottsdale on Thursday, April 23 at 9:00 am with a celebration of life service following at 10:00 am. At the conclusion of the service, he will be laid to rest at the gravesite.
