Jaclyn (“Lyn”) Huntress Krawczyk, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and beloved grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 2, 2014, at the age of 66. Lyn was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 29, 1947. She spent her early years in Gross Pointe, Michigan, with her parents Helen and Jack Huntress, brother Ricky, and sister Margery, before the family moved to Paradise Valley, Arizona, when she was 10. Lyn attended Kiva Elementary School, graduated from Scottsdale High School, and went on to study at Arizona State University. Lyn worked at The Sugar Bowl Ice Cream Parlor, an Old Town Scottsdale legend started by her father, where she met Thomas Krawczyk. The couple married in the summer of 1969 and spent over 45 years together in Scottsdale where they raised their three children: Laura (43), Jack (38), and Amy (34). Lyn’s greatest legacy is her 10 grandchildren: Hunter (12), Cole (11), Ashley (9), Nicholas (8), Casey (6), Luke (6), Caitlyn (4), Abby (4), Brooke (4) and Zoey (2). She spent most of her time either at sporting events for her grandchildren, shopping with them at the mall, talking to them on the phone, or trying to Face Time or Skype with them. Lyn loved vacationing in California at the beach and seeing the delight in her grandchildren’s eyes when she bought them something new. A Visitation and Memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona. The funeral services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Barnabas on the Desert Episcopal Church, 6715 N. Mockingbird Lane, Paradise Valley, Arizona
