Jim was raised in Arizona and attended Scottsdale High School, graduating Beaver class of 1970. Jim attended ASU and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business. Jim held a master’s degree in Business Administration.
His career in global scientific research/bioinfomatics began at Beckman Coulter and continued with TGen (Translational Genomics Research Institute), until his recent retirement in September of 2019 as the Vice President of Business Development.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy; his 2 daughters Sarah (Brian Barrett) and Laura (Randy Mandaville).
Jim will be remembered as an importer and exporter: of classic cars, avid World War ll book collector, strong believer that Old Guys and long boards "rule" on the beach, life-long ASU Sun Devil fan and Parrothead for life. His biggest fans call him "Papa" (Harrison, Claire, Jack and James).
ln lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be made to Jim's memorial in support of Dr. Vinodh Narayanan and TGen's Center for Rare Childhood Diseases.
