Kay was an avid reader who always had a book in her hand. She cherished cooking and baking, and her oatmeal drop cookies were a favorite among family and friends. Kay enjoyed shopping and collecting various items, including her collection of three sewing machines, which she humorously never used.
Growing up, her family fondly remembers waking up on Saturday mornings to the sound of Kay dancing to music while cleaning. She listened to all types of music.
Kay is survived by her husband, Turner Walker, and her children, Jeremy Simmons of Arizona and Amber Hoffman of Idaho. She is also remembered by her sisters, Jeannie Buntjer (Jon, deceased) of Washington, Sandy Craig (Mike) of Iowa, and Theresa Alvarez (Thomas) of Arizona, as well as her brother, Edward Simmons (Gina) of Tennessee and many nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Simmons and Frances Poe and her brother-in-law, Jon Buntjer.
Kay's memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
