Oh dear Lord above. What an amazing woman to have walked this earth. I am so sad that I hadn't kept in touch with her in recent years. A great teacher, mother, companion to animals and all us humans. Ed, Jim and Kathy so very sorry for your loss.  Hugs to you Josie. See you again.

Mrs. Allen,  I just found out today of your passing.  You were the BEST teacher on this earth.  You were not only very strict but very loving and compassionate.  I'm glad I was able to attend the luncheon for you at the Cheesecake Factory with my son, Jeff, and other classmates.  You will be missed.  My prayers go out to your family.

My favorite teacher of all time. 
Truly a great loss for the family and the world.She made everyone feel important, and took time for the individual. A light for this troubled kid. Unconditionally loving all her students.  I remember a field trip to her ranch and riding the gate like a stand up swing. She is Awesome. She is an inspiration. God is proud. May the Lord comfort the loved ones left behind. She is missed, not lost or forgotten......


My prayers and condolences go out to the family. Always remember to rely on "the God of all comfort" who is able to heal your grieving hearts. (2 Corin.1:3,4) He is a source of strength and comfort during this difficult time.

I worked with Josie for 9 years at Monte Vista School.  She was my daughter's teacher in 4th grade.  A wonderful person  who touched the lives of many children.  I remember her love for Animals as well.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her.   My prayers and sympathy go out to her family.   Rest in Peace lovely lady.

Mrs. Allen was one of my favorite teachers.  I loved the mud huts!  She always let me run the projector on movie days. You will be missed!

Mrs. Allen will always have a special place in my heart. She was my 4th grade teacher, and touched my life forever. I saw her last March, and she still spoke fondly of all of "her kids."

Besides my dad Henry Ketterer mrs Allen was everyone's favorite teacher  rest in peace you are now with my dad Henry Ketterer and sister Kathy thank you for everything

The Best Teacher Ever!! She often crosses my mind, not too many can say that about a fourth grade teacher!! Just loved her she was so kind and caring. My prayers to the family.

IMO The BEST teacher ever. She helped shape many lives for the better. You will be missed but not forgotten.

Josie....you are missed greatly.  What a wonderful lady you were!  The lives you touched, be it 2 legged or 4 legged are forever grateful and blessed!  

It doesn't matter what we have when we go home to live with the Lord, what matters is the lives we touched and the difference we made in their lives.  Thank you for that!

I had the great privilege of being Mrs. Allen's 4th grade student. This wonderful woman was the epitome of what a teacher should be. She not only taught us the basics but she shared her wisdom and helped shape us into the adults we are today. I remember our trip to Montezuma's Castle and Montezuma's Well with her. It will always be one of my most favorite memories of childhood. What an awesome lady! RIP Mrs. Allen...you have done the world proud!

Mrs. Allen was my favorite teacher (4th grade @ Monte Vista)! My favorite memory is of her reading to us while we took turns rubbing her shoulders. I remember her as so kind and patient but she didn't put up with any nonsense! I'm so sorry for your loss. Please know her legacy will live on in our beautiful memories of her.
