91 years of age was peacefully welcomed to eternal life surrounded by her beloved family and caregivers on December 11, 2016. Julia, also known as Judy and Jewel, was born January 1, 1925 in Braddock, Pennsylvania. She was a long-time resident of Scottsdale, AZ. In life she gave unselfishly to those she loved and was a constant source of inspiration and support. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, whom she was married for over sixty-four years. Julia is survived by her sister Anna Holmes, along with her ten children: Sherry Schaffer, Garry (Cathy) Lazar, Judy (Bud) Pergl, Bruce (Mary) Lazar, Maureen (Martin) McPherson, Jeffrey Lazar, Randy (Joyce) Lazar, Cindy (Matt) Petersen, Scott Lazar, and Kimberly Martin (recently engaged to Mike Swann). In addition, Julia had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff and caregivers from Hope Care Home, Infinite Luv Care Home, and East Valley Hospice for the loving care and compassion that was provided. Arrangements are entrusted to Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery.
