

Hunter, Louis P. Sr. 93, of Phoenix, AZ went to be with the Lord, on January 8, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Julia; 3 sons Phillip, Richard & Jeffrey; sister Grace; as well as 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. Lou was born on March 14, 1922 in Washington, PA, and is 1 of 8 children. He is preceded by his parents Joseph & Maude Hunter & 6 of his siblings. He served his country during WWII as a Staff Sgt, and was awarded a Bronze Star along with multiple other medals. He came home to meet Julia Moses, and the 2 were married on January 19, 1947 at the First Presbyterian Church in Martins Ferry, OH. In 1960 Lou and his family moved from Akron, OH, to Phoenix, AZ where he worked at Holsum Bakery until he retired at the age of 65. The following 27 years were spent doing everything he loved; cooking, gardening, working on word puzzles, enjoying the weather at his cabin in Heber, and most importantly spending as much time as possible with his family, which he loved more than life. He touched the lives of all who knew him, and was cherished for his generosity and kind heart. A Celebration of Life will be held for Lou, Wed. January 20, 2016 at 1pm at Green Acres Mortuary 401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale.
