Mary Schreyer, 96, died in Phoenix, Arizona March 20, 2013. Mary was born in Pitsboro, Indiana, but spent much of her life in Waukegan, Illinois where she and her late husband, William, raised their three children, Jon (deceased), Donald, 66, and Susan, 60. After living in the Tampa area for ten years, Mary spent the last twenty-eight years in Paradise Valley, AZ. An avid golfer, Mary racked up multiple holes-in-one, and continued to play golf until she was 88. She will be sorely missed by her daughter Susan Stander and husband, Paul Stander of Paradise Valley, AZ, granddaughters Karli Stander and Kelsey Stander, her son Donald Schreyer and wife, Kathy Schreyer of Tampa, Florida and granddaughters Amy Schreyer Rowe and Lisa Schreyer O’Hara, and grandsons Jason and Jeremy Schreyer. She also has five great-grandchildren. A private family ceremony will be held in Tampa on March 30. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated by Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
