

He was born in Streator, Illinois on October 3, 1933. Raymond graduated from Mt. Vernon (Illinois) Township High School, and served as a corporal for 6 years in the United States Marine Corps. He then later received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, and also a Master's degree at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
Raymond married Sue Ann Neal on June 2, 1951 in Washington, Indiana. He had a long career in Electrical Engineering at the Illinois Power Company and Southern California Edison. Raymond was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) and had a passion for fishing, coaching baseball, working as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. He loved anything that had to do with math. After retiring, Ray taught math courses at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California, then upon moving to Arizona with his wife, Sue Ann, Ray also taught math courses as a substitute teacher at Mountain Pointe High School in Ahwatukee.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Raymond C. Stewart II; daughter B. Diane Duckett (Chris); grandchildren: Jeff, Steven, Scott, Daniel, Ben Wells, and Erin, Gwen, Carly, Paige Stewart; great grandchildren: Ella, Parker, Addie, Charlotte, Heidi, Eloise, Walker, and Harrison.
A memorial service for Raymond will be held privately by invitation only. Ray will be laid to rest at Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Arizona.
