Rosalie Ferrara

Rosalie “Chickie” Ferrara, age 81, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 surrounded by members of her family. Rosalie was born on February 6, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to Charles and Anna Barreca. Rosalie grew up in Brooklyn, New York and attended Jackson Heights High School in Queens, NY. She was married to her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry Ferrara, on September 5, 1960 at SS. Joachim and Anne Church in Queens Village, New York. Rosalie was a loving wife and mother. Family was very important to Rosalie, and she devoted her life to raising her children Carmela, Tony, Jerry, Chris, Gina, and Charles as well as her eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Rosalie is survived by her sons Tony, Jerry, Chris, and Charles; daughters Carmela and Gina; brothers Benedetto (Benny) and Charles (Junie Boy); sister Elvira; eleven grandchildren, Bryan, Timothy, Anthony, Jonathan, Daniel, Geena, Danielle, Nicholas, Justin, Jessica, and Tyler; five great-grandchildren, Carmella, Mia, Amora, Arthur, and Ezekiel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Rosalie in death are her husband, Jerry, father and mother, Charles and Anna Barreca, and her brothers, Pasquale, Joey, and Jerry.

Special thanks to all the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona.

Rosalie is much loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in their hearts. A private service will be held for Rosalie on July 2. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to her favorite charity: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
