Shirley moved to Arizona in 1963 from Steele, MO, in the “boot-heel” of southeastern Missouri. She was most famous for her peanut brittle, always “cutting up” and calling those she loved “kid”. She worked at Motorola and Micro Rel. In her spare time, she loved to volunteer and crochet. Two of her favorite programs were “Wheel of Fortune” and the “Price is Right”. She will be missed greatly by those that loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother Adele McClure and two older brothers, Bob and Bill McClure. She is survived by her two loving sons, Robert and wife Dana; Alan and wife Rebecca; five grandchildren, Jayme and husband David Hughes, Amanda and husband Salomón Marón, Dani and husband Adam Bost, Rhea and Dalton Johnston; three great-grandchildren Haley and Jett Hughes and Clara Bost.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shirley Johnston’s name to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
