Travis Richard Martin

Travis was born at Scottsdale Memorial hospital. He was a loving child that played sports (baseball, hockey), loved music and played the piano and violin as a child. He was warm hearted, good natured and generous to others. He lightened everyone around him with his laughter and jokes. He went to Ishikawa elementary school, Stapley Jr. High and went to a charter High School in East Mesa.

As he got older, Travis struggled with bipolar and depression for most of his adult life. Those who knew him best, saw him struggle with this daily. However, through that pain, Travis always thought of others first. He was kind, considerate and compassionate. He went out of his way to help others. People who first met him could see and feel his compassion and love for those around him. Children loved Travis and he was very good with them.

Travis was funny and silly. He loved to play jokes on people or act out a funny scene. He would recite dialogs from movies like Forest Gump or Twister. He did the impressions perfectly and was always able to make people laugh. He had a love of all kinds of music, from Bob Marley to Avenged Sevenfold and Christian Rock, Country, etc. He loved it when he didn’t “lose the game”.

His favorite part of life was being with his friends and family. Family is what he valued most of all. He was a strong believer in God and was very spiritual. He quoted scriptures regularly and was able to use that to help others in many ways.

He was a good person who loved hard, felt deep and cared strongly. He is survived by his parents, Russell H, and Sheila M Martin, His siblings, Sam & Sierra Martin, Grandmother, Juanita Smith, Aunts & Uncles, Ted Cheeseman, Anita Henson, Sarah Cheeseman, Tammy & Dia Madfai, Daniel Wilmer and Retha & Keith Rickets, Cousins, Jasmine & Aaron Sisk, Angel Cheeseman, Amber Barney, Ahmed Madfai, Amanda Rickets, Omar Madfai, Ted Cheeseman Jr., David Cheeseman, Keith Rickets Jr., Tony Henson, Second Cousins, Billie Turner, Lane Sisk and Zane Sisk.
