Kushi was a special person that made every day at the office brighter. My desk was side-by-side with Kushi's desk, which means that I started each day with a smile and a "Good morning, Bri!" Sometimes others would say good morning to Kushi, and she would say back to them with a grin "Good morning, but don't you see that Bri is here too?"  She didn't want me to be left out. That's Kushi - she was always worried about others before herself.

Kushi was a hard worker who took great pride in her work. She was a beautiful person who did not deserve to feel any sadness or pain. Now we all feel the sadness and pain of her loss and she is resting in eternal peace.

I worked with Kushi at the UW Medical center like many others.

My office was next to Kushi’s for a couple years, although it feels so much longer when I think of the crazy hours some of us worked. I was really nervous when I took that job because I came from the float team where we had it pretty easy most of the time, and this new job was extremely demanding with long hours and very sick patients. Kushi also came from the float team and she immediately made me feel welcome and reassured me that I could do this insane job.

I remember hearing people tell Kushi that she was too nice, but I don’t really believe in such a thing as being too nice. In this world there are givers and takers and Kushi was the epitome of what it means to be a giver. Can you imagine what a better place the world would be if everyone had just a fraction of the kindness that Kushi graced us with.

I would like to say thank you to anyone who helped organize this. Please know that your efforts are so appreciated by everyone. 

I have also lost a family member suddenly, and there is nothing that can prepare you for what going through that feels like. We must all remember to take care of ourselves and each other, because that is what Kushi would have wanted.

Kushi was such a kind soul.  She was  a ray of light and a joy to work with, she will be sorely missed by all of her colleagues at Boeing.

Our class was just below the principal’s office and we always got into trouble for being so loud. We had such a carefree teenage life and I still remember all the mischief we had in school. You always laughed out loud when a teacher would say a funny sounding terminology. You had such a beautiful and cheerful personality and you will be missed dearly by all of your classmates. Kushi,, i am still finding a way how to see this real,,, its totally a shock for me. I pray ur kids and husband will overcome with gods blessings and i will surely miss u forever. U r such a happy soul i have ever met... hugs❤️ . rest in peace kushi.

Kushi was a sweet, kind, smart, and generous person. Her family was her first love. She spoke of her husband and her life with him with such love and high regard. She especially mentioned his integrity and how she valued that. And her children and mother meant the world to her too. I am sure there are so many others but those are who she spoke of the most with me. She loved being your wife and mother and daughter respectively.

At work at UW Transplant, she was an incredibly hard worker who cared about our patients so much. Even when she was sick, she would want to still work from home so that the patients would be taken care of. She was proud to work at UW and we were so fortunate to have her in our department and we knew it.

Everyone at work describes her as sweet and mentions her smile. She would take the time to listen and make many kind gestures to her transplant “family” like remembering a birthday or bringing flowers at a time of loss for me and many others. 

She and I would walk down the long hallway to get away from our desks and process some intense times. I would urge her to let the difficulties be like water off a duck’s back, and tell her that she was doing a great job because she was. 

We were so sad when she left Transplant for Boeing but now I see that gave us the opportunity to tell her how much we love and appreciate her. It is good she knew how precious she was to us and maybe we would not have said it so clearly if she has stayed. I was trying to get her to come back to Transplant!

I don’t know why she was taken from us so soon. We can never really understand another person’s life pathway. Maybe she was too good for this world. But she was not too good for her family or us. She loved you and us in her work family and knew she was loved in return. I fully believe she is at peace and is only worried about us carrying on without her. Sending such big hugs to her lovely husband, children, mother, and extended family and friends.

Our dearest Kushi, the sweetest and kindest neighbor we could ever ask for. In the short amount of time we’ve spent together, we were lucky to have received her genuineness and warmth, at a time when it has been so rare to find. Thank you for your grace and wholeheartedness. May you rest easy now our friend. We will never forget you.

Kushi was always a kind, funny, and hardworking teammate. She was always willing to cover for me and help me, despite her heavy workload. We bonded over our shared experiences at work, and she comforted me when I had a loss in my family. She always made me laugh and I will forever be grateful to her.

I did not know Kushi, but looking at this beautiful memorial I feel like I knew her. I am a Sirimavian as well, and want to extend my deepest condolences to her family and all those who loved her. Especially her children. I hope that they will always remember their mother and her love for them, and wish lots of support from extended family so that they can grow up to lead happy lives ❤️

I have come to realized that there will be no more “moment”with you. Catching up one day over a coffee,and spending time together will just be a wish that never came true.

Dearest Kushi,

It was only like yesterday when we were at our 12 Kumudu A/L class having all those good times. Our class was right under the principal's office & yet we were the noisiest lot 🤭. And I must say there never was a dull moment in the class with you around. And now looking back, I feel blessed for those memories Kushi...

I still can't believe that you were taken this soon from us. But as we all from our class got together, grieving your physical loss, I understood that you're still there with us through the memories of our old stories, laughter and love you shared with us. Which made me understood wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.

It was so hard to believe that tragic news dear…The wonderful days we spent at sirimavo with lots fun , we did not have any exam stress during those days as it was a cool class with lovely friends.you are one of them and so mischievous.I remember how you kept a seat in the school bus for me and Manji as  we were not that smart to run fast and get the back seat.Nugegoda is one of our memorable places Louvre and Lyceum  the tuition classes those lovely days we spent together , the arms giving you had at your place and the delicious biscuit pudding you gave me …all those sweet memories are still with me.Though we didn’t have much connection after A/L s me and Sumedha were memorizing those fun days.You will be in our heats forever KUSHI…❤️May your kids and husband be able to bear this sorrow…Aunty ,Uncle and malli I know how you loved her and I don’t understand how you all are bearing it up…May they  have strength to face this situation.

I am still at a loss for words. You were one of the most amazing people I had in my life. One of the kindest souls, you always put everyone before you. I still remember how we used to do everything together. I remember all the  memories I had with you in the school. I remember all the memories with you during our last two years in high school. How you would wake up before me to make my tea, how would you make my breakfast when I was still sleeping, how we stayed all night pretending to be studying, but watching Bollywood movies. You were the ultimate definition of kindness, caring and the beautiful soothing nature of unconditional giving.  There are thousands to say, but my love I just can't voice them without being shattered in to pieces. I know for sure, that you were straight dropped in heaven. But you won't go in, you will stay at the gates making sure everyone walks pass, is being fed, is being taken care of, their hair is fixed, their clothes are done. And that's the person you are.
