Frances Mary Ann Sollitt (Cox) born September 17, 1937 in Seattle Washington was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on the evening of October 27, 2025 at her home in Mercer Island, Washington.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Clive Sollitt, her children Alison (Chad Monen) & Luke (Jessica Malan) and her grandchildren Mackenzie Monen & Steven Sollitt, as well has her step grandchildren Danielle Petschl (Monen), Tyler Monen & Makayla Malan.
Born and raised in the Seattle area she enjoyed the outdoors, baking, gardening, being involved in her church, and spending time with those she loved.
Frances married Clive Sollitt in August of 1970 and welcomed a daughter Alison in June of 1974, and a son Luke in May of 1979. She raised both kids, living both in Bothell and Woodinville, where she taught them both to cook and shared her love of baking, making and decorating incredible birthday cakes for her kids.
She enjoyed the outdoors with some of her best memories being made at the family Chalet in Snoqualmie Pass, spending time hiking and enjoying nights together playing games.
Frances suffered a stroke in the spring of 1997 and against all odds and doctors predictions, she learned to walk again and even went so far to regain her driving privileges.
Her family viewed every day since her stroke a blessing and a gift from God.
Frances handled the side effects of her stroke with a smile and sense of humor mixed with some occasional frustration. Her aphasia led to many funny moments, from her children now being called “Freddy” and “Sherald” to wildly funny and sometimes downright inappropriate comments, all of which she handled with laughter and grace.
Her family will miss her smile, her laugh, her hugs, her occasional nonsensical voicemails, the way her face lit up when they came to visit and her sometimes stubborn determination.
She loved unconditionally, deeply, without hesitation and with her whole heart. She was loved dearly and will be missed by the many lives she touched over her 88 years.
She will be missed, so very, very much. Her family's hearts are broken as they struggle with life without her. They take solace and comfort in the fact that in her final moments she was at home with her husband, and that she is no longer in any pain and is now dancing in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.
Goodbye mom, we will miss you.
