Gloria Jeanne Einfeld (nee Andersen), 64, of Lake Forest Park, WA went home to be with her Lord on November 2, 2023 following a long battle with cancer. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by family members.
Gloria was born September 14, 1959 in Seattle, WA. She was the eldest of two daughters born to parents Margaret Lade and Karl Jacob Andersen. She grew up in the View Ridge neighborhood, attending Roosevelt High School where she participated in track and cross-country. She went on to Seattle Pacific University, graduating with a degree in Environmental Studies. In 1981 she met her future husband, Carl Einfeld, and they were married in Seattle in 1983. Together, they raised three children. She later returned to school in 2016 to obtain a master’s degree in Regulatory Affairs from the University Of Washington School Of Pharmacy. Gloria loved her work in Regulatory Affairs and marked her 30th year with Bio-Rad Laboratories in 2023.
Gloria was an outdoor enthusiast who maintained a love of adventure throughout her entire life. Given a spare weekend, Gloria could be found hiking, camping, skiing, or enjoying a favorite spot in the San Juan Islands. The southwest deserts and canyons were especially cherished by her and she had fond memories of time spent as a park ranger at Canyonlands and Capitol Reef National Parks following her graduation from college. More recently, she fulfilled her adventurous spirit by traveling with her husband Carl. Some of her favorite destinations were Norway, France, and Costa Rica.
Above all, Gloria brought joy and a cheerful outlook to her family and friends. She cherished sharing days full of activities with her children and grandchildren, spending time with friends, serving as a deacon at her church and studying her family history, making connections with distant relatives near and far.
Gloria is preceded in death by her sister, Arleen Andersen. She is survived by her husband Carl Einfeld, daughters Gwen (Tyler) Voskuilen of Albuquerque and Leah (Genesis) Guanga of Seattle, son Paul Einfeld of New York City and four grandchildren, Lydia, Nate, Eden, and Jonah. She is dearly missed by all.
A memorial service to honor Gloria’s life will be held on November 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at Acacia Funeral Home. Remembrances may be made through donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
