Lillie was born in Evansville, IN on August 2, 1931. Sadly her mother died in childbirth and Lillie was raised by her older sisters, Florence & Juanita. Lillie met her first husband, Howard Powers, on February 28, 1950. They married 10 days later. Howard took his new bride across country to Seattle on the Greyhound bus to live near his family.
Lillie and Howard have three children, Brenda Campo Purser, Marcia Stankiewicz, (Jim) and Tom Powers, (Krista). Lillie and Howard divorced in 1970.
Lillie found her calling as a bartender meeting many interesting people including her 2nd husband, Lynn Haggbloom, whom she married in 1973. Lillie and Lynn enjoyed annual trips to Oahu, HI throughout the 19 years they were married. Lillie quit bartending and went into retail sales at Sears Roebuck until her retirement. Lillie and Lynn divorced in 1992 when Lillie decided to move back to Evansville, IN to be closer to her siblings. After 5 years in Evansville she decided Indiana wasn’t for her and returned to Seattle.
Lillie met Dan Galbraith through their mutual friendship with Marlene, (Dan’s 2nd wife). After Marlene’s passing Dan & Lillie struck up a happy kinship and were married in 2002. They made each other laugh daily and loved to dance whenever the mood struck them, (whether in the aisle of the grocery store to MUZAK music or a bar on a cruise ship). They bought a motorhome to travel throughout the U.S. including trips to Evansville, IN, Alaska via Canada and became snowbirds in Yuma, AZ annually.
In addition to her three children Lillie is survived by six grandchildren, whom she adored and bragged about to anyone she encountered, Anthony Campo, (Julie), Christine Campo, (Mike), and Alicia Hoppers, (Rick) and Destiny Burke, (Steve), Hailey Powers Mondragon, (Alex), and Hayden Powers. She also has one great grandson, Gabriel Diessner.
Lillie and all her unique charms will be truly missed. She was one “foxy” Grandma who loved her kids, grandkids and great grandson unconditionally.
The family would like to thank everyone at Bothell Healthcare for the tremendous care and compassion given to Lillie during her four years of residency there.
