Lois Grendahl Fitchett was born October 10th, 1919 in Seattle, Washington to Cecile and Olga Kirkpatrick. She had three siblings, Ora Walsh (deceased), Rene Weed (deceased) and Jean Kerr whom she loved dearly. She attended Lincoln High School in Seattle where she met her high school sweetheart, Sid Grendahl, in 1940. With Sid, she raised three incredible children- Dianne Madden, Dennis Grendahl and Jeanne Wilson. After Sid passed in 1970, Lois met her soul mate, Lawrence Fitchett. Together, they merged families and she gained another son, Lawrence E. Fitchett Jr. whom she welcomed with open arms. She was widowed again in 1995.
Lois was a kind, generous family woman whose values will be passed on in her family for years to come. She was loved by many, characterized by her subtle wit and willingness to stand her ground when challenged. She had many friends who truly cherished her presence and unfortunately outlived a number of them. She loved playing golf and attending almost every Husky football game she possibly could. She was a true Seattle sports fan who enthusiastically supported the Seahawks and Mariners as well. Her hobbies included bowling, cribbage and golf; which she played all along the Pacific coast and at the Rainier Golf and Country Club. Her favorite course though was Pebble Beach in California.
Lois is survived by five grandchildren, Karen Roberson (deceased), John Madden, Kelli Shapard, Kerrie Wilson and Diana Honeywell Wilson. She also had eleven great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.
A celebration of Lois’s life will be held this Fall, but her gentle spirit will live on forever.
