Marcella was born November 9, 1924 in Seattle Washington.
From her first job on the conveyor belt with best friend Jo Jelovich at Arden Ice Cream Co. Marcella Ruth Zuvela had quite the life.
Working at Beemis Bag Co. Marcella enjoyed her job and enjoyed watching the Ships roll in to the waterfront to load supplies. This was during Wartime so one can only imagine what a sight that must have been.
Marcella stayed home for many years in between to care for her household. When she returned to the workforce, she took a job at Fredrick and Nelson as a switchboard operator. The Company needed another operator so whom did Marcella call for help? Her best friend Jo Jelovich-Molisky. The two rode the metro bus together to work every day until both retired, happy with the company and full of fond memories.
Marcella went on to share with her family in later years that she loved Dancing, making and baking Biscotti and reflecting on fond childhood memories. One she mentioned is of her Father working on the rails as a little girl and taking her to see the First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt roll in to the station!
What a memory, what a life.
Marcella was a Women of God and believed in our Catholic faith. The kindness in her heart allowed her to consider everything and, everyone. Marcella went as far as to plan her planting of flowers timely and, furthermore, what she was planting. Her main concern was the children and parish workers so she didn't plant anything that attracted bees to sting the children or the parishioner's. That may be the sweetest thing I've ever heard. What a Lady, What a life.
Marcella is survived by her three children: Geraldine ( Arny) McGinnis; James (Lyn) Zuvela and Michael (Darla) Zuvela.
Grandma to Richard Wilder, Anthony Zuvela, Anna Reeves, Carla Nelson, Bridget Zuvela and Stacey Martinez.
Great Grandma to Kya, Austin, Spencer, Brendan, Bradley, Tyler, Carter, Mia and Olivia.
Preceded in death by her loving husband James V. Zuvela; Daughter Mary; Granddaughters Kimberly and Amanda, and her loving companion Gene Johnston.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.forestlawn-seattle.com for the Zuvela family. In lieu of flowers please offer your expression of kindness by donation in Marcella's name to your favorite charity or parish.
