Marianne Teresa Roulet, 81, a longtime Seattle resident and, more recently, a Las Vegas transplant, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, after a long illness. A funeral Mass will be held at Assumption Catholic Church in Seattle on November 11 at 11:00 a.m.
Born in Seattle on June 5, 1944, Marianne grew up with a lifelong love for learning, community, and compassion. After spending her early years in Seattle, her family moved to Port Orchard, where she graduated from South Kitsap High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Seattle University, setting the foundation for a career defined by service and advocacy.
Marianne dedicated her professional life to helping others—first as a teacher and later as an advocate for students with learning disabilities. She co-founded an organization that fought to ensure every student received the resources and support they needed, working tirelessly with the State of Washington and the Seattle School District to make that vision real.
Never one to sit still, Marianne reinvented herself many times over the years. She built and ran a house-cleaning business, served as an advocate and personal representative, where needed, for the elderly and disabled, and later launched an estate sales business that specialized in helping families navigate loss with dignity and care.
Marianne’s legacy is one of fierce compassion, humor, and quiet strength. She inspired everyone around her to treat others with respect, to see potential where others saw limits, and to find joy in helping someone succeed. As her family will tell you, she lived by a simple truth: there is no greater reward than helping others succeed and recognize there own self worth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clement E. Fink and Mildred A. (Muschner) Fink. She is survived by her husband Norman, her sons Paul and Peter, and their wives, her grandson Osai, her sister Monica, and her husband, and her nephews Greg, Nick, and John, along with countless relatives and friends whose lives were made brighter by her presence. Her love, laughter, and example live on in all that knew her.
