Dr. Michele Suzanne Choma-Banasek

Dr. Michele Suzanne Choma-Banasek, age 61, of Shoreline, Washington passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. She was born on July 13, 1963 in Elmhurst, IL to her mother, Nancy Evelyn Choma, and father, Jan Ludovit Choma. She graduated from York Community High School in Elmhurst, IL. She attended Elmhurst College and the University of Illinois to receive her BS and PharmD degrees. Michele had a 30 year long career as a Consulting Pharmacist at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. She was a member of The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and Washington State Pharmacy Association. On October 17, 1992 she married Gregory Allen Banasek.

Michele loved exploring the beauties of the northwest, after migrating from Chicago in the early 90’s. She loved camping, hiking, and mountain biking. An accomplished first chair flautist, music was her bread. She performed at many loved one’s weddings and other occasions. She enjoyed sharing her musical gifts and influences with all she loved. Michele was an award winning gardener in her new hometown, Edmonds, Washington. She was a giver of care and of herself. As the finest of Consulting Pharmacists, she counseled and consoled untold numbers of people during their hardest times.

In her younger days, Michele was also an athlete, accomplished in track and field. As she moved forward in life, kept active physically and spiritually through the magic of yoga. Her artistic gifts included her beautiful mastery of fabric art, creating handmade meaningful gifts for the delighted ones to receive them.

Michele was preceded in death by her parents (Nancy Evelyn Choma and Jan Ludovit Choma) and her grandparents (Joseph Edward Allebrodt, Hulda Emelia Allebrodt, Ludovit Choma, and Zuzanna Chomova). She is survived by her husband (Gregory Allen Banasek), her daughter (Anna Beth Choma-Banasek), and her siblings (Janine Nancy Nessel, John Eric Choma, and Adrienne Renee Sodemann).
