

Nevena was born on January 18, 1911 in the coal-mining town of Cambria, Wyoming to Dominick and Donka Markoff. She went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2010 in Seattle, Washington at the age of 99.
Nevena helped build heavy bombers during the WWII era. She excelled in sales at Frederick & Nelson and later was an honored Head Staff Supervisor for over 25 years with Junior and Senior Girls in the Juvenile court system.
Nevena’s rosy cheeks & cheerful smiles were always welcome. Her life of compassion, mercy and service were gifts from God, generously shared with others. Her faithfulness to all who knew her and especially to her daughter was unshakable.
Nevena is predeceased by her husband, Louis W. Pepper, and her older brother, Theodore “Tody” Markoff.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Bennett (husband - Guy) of Seattle, son, Ira Peterson (wife – Verlane) of Florida and her younger brother, Keith Markoff of Nebraska. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons.
A Funeral Service for Nevena will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, 12:00 PM at Acacia Funeral Home in Seattle.
