Age 82, passed away in her sleep, the morning of August 1, 2011, to be with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Patty was delivered by a midwife at home on June 15, 1929 in Pear Valley, Texas, to Marion and Josie Spraggins. Prior to her birth, the family house burned down and everything was lost resulting in her first bed made out of an old trunk. In 1947, Patty graduated from Melvin High School and was voted ‘Football Sweetheart’ in her senior year. She worked in the Bakery Profession for over 20 years.
Patty moved up to Seattle, Washington, and met Robert Knight at a Sunday School picnic. They were married August 12, 1951, in the home of Bob’s parents, Arthur and Winifred Knight. From their union, they had two children; Daniel Robert Knight and Suzanne Patrice Knight.
In 1980 Suzanne married Harley Arden Boyles giving Patty and Bob two grandchildren; Michelle and Robert. Bob Knight died March 20, 1992 leaving Patty a widow, until she married Allan Hartt. She first met Allan, years ago when she met Bob Knight. Allan and Bob’s family went to Whitman Gospel Chapel and were also family friends that resulted in the two families camping together in the summers by a river while Grandpa Knight and Grandpa Hartt went back and forth to work. After the passing of his wife in 1992, Allan reconnected with Patty at a Whitman Gospel chapel Young People re-union at Carkeek Park after Bob requested that Allen care for Patty in the event of his passing. Allen and Patty were married two years later in 1994. Living with Allan on Whidbey Island and Snohomish County for 14 years, she gave Michelle and Robert another opportunity for a grandfather. On May 8, 2008 Allan passed away leaving Patty a widow for a second time.
Patty is preceded in death by her two husbands, Bob Knight and Allan Hartt; three sisters; Gladys Carter, Beth Swenning and Lois Spraggins; four step brothers, Bill, Lewis, Lloyd and Gee; and three step sisters, Sis, Evie and Ruby. She is survived by her two children, Daniel Robert and Suzanne Patrice who Patty had the privilege of leading both into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, July 27, 1960.
