Phuoc was born to the late Nguyen Trong Lien and Pham Thi Lanh in Da Nang, Vietnam on May 17, 1946, the fifth of eight siblings. Her early life was shaped by family and a homeland experiencing serious division and conflict. Phuoc fled Saigon with members of her family on April 29, 1975 via boat, ending up in Subic Bay, Philippines before ultimately arriving in Seattle, Washington. Phuoc married Vo Nam in 1977, and they lived together in the Seattle area until her passing. A devoted Buddhist, her faith guided her life with compassion, grace, and quiet strength.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Vo Thu Huong Carol, son-in-law Rick Wyant, and grandchildren Max Wyant and Thomas Wyant. Phuoc will be remembered for her resiliency, warm and loving nature, incredible compassion for others, and her easy laugh. She is deeply missed.
