Sang Kyung Kim was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Sang will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Jung Chul Kim and Kum Ok Kang.
Fortunately, Sang enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic and pride, Sang worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was an Owner and Operator in the Dry Cleaning Industry. Sang always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Sang was very Patriotic and proud to service as an Army Veteran. He proudly served the United States of America alongside General McArthur from 1950 to 1955 in Korea, where he earned many honors. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Sang enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were his family, enjoying the beautiful nature, embracing his Christian faith, fishing, hunting, and traveling. Sang taught his 5 year old son, David, how to fish and continued the tradition with all of his grandchildren. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Sang’s faith was important to him. He was a member of United Presbyterian Church of Seattle. In addition to Sunday Worship Services, Sang attended the 6:00AM Worship Service every Monday through Saturday since 2007.
Sang's hardworking hands were dedicated to anyone that needed assistance, including his son, David, this past year with a new vision to serve the community. Always yearning to learn something new, Sang was eager to personally help David on his Skagit County Farm. The first harvest of the crop is anticipated this upcoming year, which will be utilized to supply healthy local organic food alternatives for donation to the local homeless community that would otherwise be unavailable. David's goal is to carry his father's memory with this organic food program, with the intent to eventually expand to the Seattle area and beyond.
Sang passed away on October 23, 2015 at Swedish of Edmonds Medical Center in Edmonds, Washington. Services were held at United Presbyterian Church of Seattle. Sang was laid to rest in Acacia Memorial Park in Seattle, Washington.
Simply stated, Sang was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives.
