It is such a shock to hear the sad news of your death. You are so energetic and full of life.
We still remember your video of swimming and barbell lifting on July 4th, the Independence Day.  The images are still vivid in our mind. Your little poem "I'm Independent" is so interesting and full of pride. So admirable!
     You had worked hard throughout your life, being upright, persevering, and being kind to others. You are our role model, and we will always miss you.
     May you still be happy in heaven.

Hi, Grandpa Xu! I miss you a lot, I still remember that you gave me and my brother the watermelon juice you made! It still sounds delicious! I remember everything about you, where you live! I know you're there! You're in heaven watching us growing! I'm happy that you are better up there! Good thing you still can swim in the clouds, haha! I remember you the most, and I'll never forget you, on the first day I met you! I remember your tiny house, with a tiny tv! When I got there, I was very happy! There was a lot of fun things there! I even found some treasures! By the way, Stay happy up there! And keep on following your dreams no matter where you are, and what you are! XOXO

In 1982, you took the first colorful picture for me in my whole life when I was 10 years old. I started to write my first letter mailed to a place called Springfield in USA
Oct 6th 2000, I was 28. I spent my last night before immigration landing to Canada with you and next day you escorted me to Vancouver by driving a pick-up with a big Toshiba TV as a gift for my new step. I played a lot of games, so did some of my friends you have known.
During the days I lived in Vancouver, you came to see me so many times bringing me beers and helped me with gardening. Of course, nagging a lot about the mess in my room. You planted garlics and made sweet garlic for me. It's amazing!
We spent Christmas together in 2013 and it's first time for my children to see grandpa Xu and they still remember every moment in your cozy home.
We had lots of fun in summer 2017 and we were happy to decide to move back to Canada because we felt we wouldn't be apart too far anymore.
I still sent greetings on holidays especially Father's Day every year, but I never thought it was the last time in 2021.
From age 10 to age 49, you have been with me in my life for 39 years. Unbelievable, eh? 
We will never ever forget you. Be happy in heaven with our love and enjoy swimming and sports there.
