He was born in Tutuila, Vaitogi, American Samoa, to Siafuafu Vaitogi Misitupa Auau and Tofuimalo Sao. He was lovingly raised in Vaitogi by his mother, Tofu, and Papa Asa, along with his nine siblings: Stella, Avemaoe, Misikupa, Eddie, Tineimalo, Sapaitala, Skippa, Saono, and Olive. His upbringing in Vaitogi instilled in him deep faith, strong family values, and a lifelong sense of community.
At age 19, he moved to Hawaii, where he began what would become a lifelong career as a skilled and dedicated roofer. There he met the love of his life, Omeka Leomiti, who later became his wife and partner in everything. They welcomed their first child, Azier Dee Amy Tofu, in Hawaii. After her birth, they moved to Seattle for a short time, where their second child, Siafuafu Kojak Jr., joined the family. They then returned to Hawaii briefly, where their third child, Kavin Kimo, was born. The family later settled permanently in Seattle in 1979, where they completed their family by welcoming three more children: Sapaitala, Omeka, and Antonio.
He loved being a father, but his greatest joy came with becoming a grandfather. His grandchildren — Bri’Jon, Mosia, Jasmin, Taishaya, Ta’lani, and Kalani — were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He found joy in the simple pleasures: spending time by the water, watching football (especially cheering on his beloved Seahawks), playing Bingo, and being surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of togetherness to every gathering.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering devotion to his family, and the pride he carried for his Samoan heritage. His legacy lives on in the children and grandchildren he adored, and in the countless memories he created with all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved!
