On June 7, 2020 Filomena (Phyllis) DiPillo passed away at 96 years of age. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis DiPillo and a much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also leaves behind a cherished sister and will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was dearly loved by all who knew her, and touched many people’s lives. She worked hard to make Kroll Heights a homier place to live for the seniors, be it by decorating the common areas for the holidays or by baking her famous cream puffs for the weekly bingo and card games. She was also vice-president of the Kroll Heights tenant’s association at one time. Phyllis was so well-respected by her peers that she was voted Hudson County Senior of the Year in 2015. She was loved by everyone and will be missed by all who knew her.
