Arthur and Tara, I am so sorry to learn of Joanne’s passing. I’m also sorry to bring up this time in your lives again.  You don’t know me; I grew up with Joanne and lived down the street from her. We went to Madonna School, Holy Trinity, and Holy Angels together. I’m thrilled that she was there for a big day in your life, Tara. Despite not having seen her in many years, I thought about her often.  Joanne was a loving, strong, and caring woman. She will be missed. Her friend,  Moira Flynn

For as long as I can remember Joanne was a part of my life, beginning with Kindergarten, through our early school years at OLF & HT, our dance-filled “teen years,” and all those memorable events of our lifetime. We shared  happy times, and heartbreak, triumphs and tears. Her generous spirit would never leave anyone out,  and everyone was included to partake in whatever celebration was underway. 
And there were many wonderful, happy celebrations.


Her life touched the lives of many who were in need of her counsel and understanding. She knew how to unlock the hearts of troubled souls, and help them heal. 


She was one of the kindest people God ever created, with her easygoing demeanor and beautiful smile. 
We will miss Her to the depth of our being,’
Her memory will be cherished  forever.

I always loved having your presence at Uncle Tom’s house. Your presence would brighten the room and you’d always make sure to make people feel welcome. I guess I thought we’d all live forever or else I’d have tried to talk with you more sooner. 

Joanne will always be one in a million. I was very fortunate to know her and enjoy our friendship.

Joanne was an incredible role model, support, supervisor, and friend to me.   I have never known anyone to be more kind or generous.  I’ve known her for 25 years and have literally never heard her say a negative thing about anyone. She was full of hope and love and she helped me and countless others to be better therapists for children and their families.  I cannot begin to imagine how many children’s lives are better because of Joanne. We will all miss her terribly, but her legacy lives on.  So much love to Artie, Tara and all of Joanne’s loved ones.  I can still hear her singing “I believe I can fly…”. We love you Joanne.  Always. 

I got to know Joanne many years ago when she worked at Barnert Hospital and we collaborated in servicing victims of child abuse. She always had a smile, encouraging words and was so very devoted to the children she treated.  
Despite the very difficult work we shared, she still had a great sense of humor and would always make me laugh- with the biggest heartiest laugh that would stop anyone in their tracks.  
Rest in peace, Jo-Jo. You will be greatly missed by so many.

Joanne is loved much and will live on in our hearts. She had an open, gracious and giving heart to all with her soft presence and infectious laugh. Joann was my first supervisor out of grad school and walked with me through those beginning years at Barnert Hospital. She was the glow of a social worker with expertise, heart and willingness to serve. I can still envision her in the coffee shop bringing a client who she knew needed to eat and who would be more open there as well as her hopping into the van to pick up clients for group sessions.

My prayers and condolences to all as you miss her physical presence though she will remain in your hearts. With Prayers for your consolation, comfort in grief and sensing her presence.

Joanne was an intergral part of the Audrey Hepburn Childrens House. She touched our lives and the lives of so many children and families through her caring compassion and expertise. She helped so many children overcome abuse and neglect- her devotion to these children never wavered, her commitment to these families never diminished and her friendship with us was cherished and will be deeply missed. 

Joanne was my loving godmother and Tara my childhood friend. As a child Joanne would call me and Tara cuddles, often. She was always sweet, kind, thoughtful and filled with joy. I always felt loved and well heard. When Tara and I would get into mischief, Joanne would call us her little freshies. I am now and teacher and find myself lovingly calling my K1ers cuddles and on occasion, freshies. I take in Joanne's spirit and hope to spread it to others.

I met Joann through her husband Artie many years ago. I also taught her daughter Tara Sunday religious classes. Whenever u met up with her she always had a huge smile, what a wonderful woman. Artie and Tara please accept my sincere condolences and have comfort in knowing she is in our Gods loving arms and she will always be looking down and sending love to you both. 🙏🙏🙏
