Born in Cuba, Victoria carried her warmth, strength, and spirit throughout her life. She later made her home in Union City, New Jersey, where she spent most of her adult years building a beautiful life rooted in family, tradition, and community.
Victoria was the heart of her family — a strong, vibrant, and endlessly creative woman whose presence could light up a room. She had a gift for bringing people together, whether through her incredible cooking, her love of music and dancing, or her artistic talent for creating handmade piñatas and thoughtful favors for every birthday, baby shower, and bridal celebration. Her creativity was matched only by her generosity; she poured love into everything she made.
She cherished time with her family and friends, and those who knew her will forever remember her warmth, her humor, and her unmistakable determination.
Victoria is survived by her children Alfonso Mendez and his wife Annie, Elena Roper and her husband Jim, and Danny Mendez, and is reunited in heaven with her children Nellie Grossi and Jimmy Mendez. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren - Allison, Laura, Deandra, Marisa, Daniela, Mariela, Nicole, Alfonso, Melody, Monica, Nate, Evan, and Schuyler as well as many great-grandchildren who adored her.
A visitation to honor Victoria's life will be held on Monday, March 9, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, NJ.
Victoria's family hopes she will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her boundless love, and the joy she created for everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the countless memories she leaves behind in every shared meal, every celebration, and every moment touched by her creativity and love.
