

Walter R. Francis Sr., age 53, of Bayonne, NJ passed away on Saturday, September 4th. Walter was born February 10, 1968; He was a 9/11 Search and Rescue worker at the World Trade Center. He was Honorably Discharged from The National Guard and a carpenter for many years with the Local 6 Carpenters Union of Jersey City. Walter lived the last 6 years in Bayonne, before that he lived 10 years in Secaucus, and most of his life in Wisconsin. Walter was a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and loved his country. Walter loved camping and being outdoors.
Walter is Survived by his loving Mother Marie (Whittaker) Francis; Children, Nicholas Hauert and Sarah, Walter R. Francis Jr., and Meghan Francis; Siblings, Paul Francis and Diane, Raymond Francis and Cindy, Vincent Francis and Kim, Warren E. Francis and Donna, Susan Steidtmann and Bob, Eileen Valase and Fred, Ronald Coleman and Karen, and Gina Van Dyke and Mike; and long time companion April Saunders as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is predeceased by his father Warren V. Francis.
A visitation for Walter will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 5 to 9PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. In Lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation ( https://t2t.org/ ) in his honor.
