B.C. (Bill) Harris

B. C. (Bill) Harris passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 89. A memorial service will begin 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee. Officiating will be Rev. Janet Ruark.

Bill, a native of Ardmore was a resident of Shawnee since 1974. He was a graduate of Ardmore High School and received a BBA and LLB from the University of Oklahoma. At OU he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and the Varsity football team which won two national championships. After serving 11 years of active and reserve duty, he was honorably discharged from the United States Army with the rank of captain. He practiced law in Oklahoma City and Shawnee for 50 years. He was a member of United Presbyterian Church. He was married to Ann Harris, who predeceased him in 2013.

He is survived by his sons, Michael G. Harris and wife, Lesley, Little Rock, Arkansas, and James D. Harris and wife, Karen, McLean, Virginia; grandchildren, Sara and husband Nathan Hanle, Jack, Maeve, and Rose; great-grandchild, Addison Hanle; and brother-in-law, James R. Goins and wife, Karen, Norman.

The family requests memorials be made to United Presbyterian Church, 120 North Broadway, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801, the American Heart Association, or the Alzheimer's Association.

A celebration of life for Bill will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801.
