Betty Jo McClure

A private family burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2013, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Heaven was in need of another beautiful soul, so God took Betty from her temporary earthly home to the indescribable splendor of Heaven as the dawn was breaking on December 16, 2014.

Her parents, Jo and Nettie Parsons had their youngest of four children, Betty Jo, on November 20, 1928, near Bethel Acres, Oklahoma. As she blossomed, Betty caught the eye of a young veteran who fell madly in love with her. Billy Bob McClure was smart enough to snatch Betty Jo and elope to Arkansas where they wed on November 4, 1951. Betty and Bill had a wonderful marriage lasting over 63 years, producing two sons, who deeply loved their Mom. Betty was the ideal mother and wife and the quiet backbone of a loving home. She lived her Christian faith and her love of God and Jesus Christ was evident in everything she said or did. Without a doubt Betty is in Heaven with her parents, her brothers: Alfred and LD Parsons, and her sister Blanche Lanier. She leaves behind many who will miss her so very much. They include the love of her life, her husband, Bill, and their two sons; Bill, his wife Jane and her daughter Dana Ebb, of Franklin, TN, and Brad, his wife, Jill, and their two children, Molly and Matthew, Betty’s two loving grandchildren, of Norman, OK. There are also countless nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made to the Gideons, The Salvation Army, The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, or the charity of your choice that exemplifies the love that is Betty Jo McClure.
