

Bobbie Gene Barron, 84, of South Rock Creek departed this life on October 26, 2016 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 28, 1931 to Joseph K. and Fannie (Turner) Barron in Anadarko, OK.
Bob grew up in Binger, OK and attended White Bread School and Binger High School.
He met and married Dorothy (Hollenbeck) Barron on May 27, 1952. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for the next four years. He spent time in Japan during the Korean conflict and several other Air Force bases all over the United States repairing airplanes. After exiting the service, Bobbie started his career at Tinker Air Force Base. Later as a civilian and because of his knowledge, the US Defense Department sent him to Vietnam to repair airplanes in combat areas.
Bobbie was an avid sports fan and participated in boxing, baseball, bowling, fishing, and horseback riding. Later in life he took great pride in his grandchildren and followed them in all of their sporting endeavors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne and Don Barron; sisters, Marie and Mary; and one great grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barron. Daughter, Lynna (James) Garner and their children and families, Evan, Jordan, Shane, and Jeremy. Daughter, Clarice (Jimmy) Brock and their children and families, Tyler Brock and Mallory Duggan. Son, Carey Barron and his son, AJ Barron, and favorite domino player Sarah Harper; as well as many great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6pm-8pm Friday, October 28 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Chapel services will be 10am Saturday at Resthaven Funeral Home with Jimmy Gibson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Shawnee High School Baseball Team.
Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
